How do you rent an apartment in Poland if you’re still abroad? I’m getting nowhere😭😭

Hi everyone, I’m honestly getting really frustrated and was wondering if anyone has gone through something similar. I recently got accepted into a Master’s program at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, and now I’m trying to secure accommodation before applying for my Polish student visa. I’ve been searching mainly on OLX and Facebook groups. So far, I’ve messaged around 40 different listings . At first I wrote in English, then I started translating my messages into Polish, thinking that might help. Unfortunately, almost nobody replies. When I do get a response, it’s usually just, “It’s no longer available,” even though the listing stays online. Most of the other messages are simply ignored. Another problem is that many listings ask you to call a Polish phone number or come view the apartment in person. I’m currently outside Poland, so neither of those is possible. I just want to reserve a place, pay the deposit, receive a rental agreement, and use that for my visa application before I travel. At this point, I’m feeling stuck. My backup option is a university dorm, but from what I’ve been told, dorm places aren’t guaranteed, and even if I get one, I may not get the type of room I need. Has anyone here managed to rent a place in Poland while still abroad? Is there something I’m doing wrong? Are there websites or agencies that are more foreigner-friendly?
